Let's talk about Money

A:<<I have a lathe cut records studio!>>
B:<<I have a band! Let's make our records!>>
-hear the price-
B:<<Well... I think it's late, I need to go now>>

Well, lathe cut is costly. Aside the cost of running the studio and all the material that's involved, it's really time demanding so it's no possible to lower the prices.. Pressed vinyl will always be more cheap, more reliable, and the quality more uniform from disk to disk, if you want a big number the answer will always be the pressing plant. So why lathe cut does exist?

AMAZING THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH LATHE CUTTING

-You can cut few copies of your music for promotional purpose, give out to journalists, promoters, etc. It will be more appreciated than spamming a social network link.
-If you have a small or new band with few fans you can still have a really limited edition (for example 10 copies) of your music, you'll not end up stuck with tons of disks to sell. You can reprint then few copies at a time if needed.
-You can cut your sequencer music to vinyl (1-2 copies) and then djing from the turntables, you can scratch with cutted vinyl
-If you also put a little effort on packaging you can make really precious limited editions of your music
-Bands can record a different take for every copy so every copy will sound different
-you can save your hot lover audio message or any audio you want to keep secret in a really unsuspected place (lost in the middle of your vinyl collection)
-You can make fake records to make jokes at parties or weddings
-You can put any audio you want, for every purpose you want on a single copy and do whatever you want with it at a reasonable price. The only limit is your imagination

PROS
-Singles are more cost effective and have more quality, more volume than full lenght albums.
-A vinyl pressing plant vould take a lot (2-3 months?) to fulfill an order, we can do it in less than a week, even in hours or minutes sometimes.
-If your band/project have some followers lathe cut limited editions can become valuable rarities
-You can make a slightly different content for every copy you make
-Pressed vynil is product, lathe cut is craft
